Napoleonic Tourist

So…the premise here…back in 1997 was that it would be cool to be able to enjoy historically informed tourism and be able to engage with the deeper historical context of a landscape through mobile self-guidance. The technology was rudimentary then…maybe a honking laptop or some sort of means of preloading and being able to locate oneself and be presented with layers of commentary.

I chose to explore the 1814 campaign ‘the defence of the patrie’ as I titled it. Napoleonic Tourist was the website born to collect the thoughts and give some sense of the potential. Then I got distracted ….
